Hi, I'm Marcus Chen, and for over a decade, I sat where your driver sits - behind the wheel of a London black cab.
I clocked more than 250,000 miles navigating London's labyrinthine streets, passed The Knowledge (yes, that brutal test where you memorize 25,000 streets and 20,000 landmarks), and heard every complaint imaginable from passengers who felt they'd been taken for a ride - financially speaking.
Harry Wyatt
Harry started what was then Uberestimate.net back in 2015. As an early Uber rider and driver, he realized it was often hard to find simple answers about prices and services. He wanted to create a place to fix that.
Our Story
In 2015, Harry launched Uberestimate.net - a site dedicated to helping Uber riders understand pricing, find promo codes, and check availability in cities worldwide. It quickly became a go-to resource for millions of riders.
Meanwhile, in 2025, Marcus launched TaxiRideEstimate.com - built on a decade of real cab-driving experience, focused on traditional taxi fares and helping travelers budget for rides without surprises.
In 2026, we joined forces. We realized we shared the same vision: fare transparency for everyone, whether you take a black cab, an UberX, or anything in between.
Now as Ride Estimate, we've brought both platforms together - combining Uber guides, taxi fare data, airport transfer info, and price comparisons into one comprehensive resource. Same mission, bigger team, broader coverage.

Marcus splits his time between London (his hometown and testing ground) and Bangkok (where tuk tuk negotiations keep his bargaining skills sharp).
