Uber Customer Service Phone Numbers
Need to contact Uber? This guide has the correct phone numbers for riders, drivers, and urgent safety issues. For most everyday problems, the fastest help is in the app.
Emergency and Safety Numbers
These numbers are for urgent situations only. For anything else, use the app's help section.
Critical Safety Response Line
This is Uber's 24/7 hotline for accidents or serious safety concerns. Call this number after you have contacted 911 if needed. This line is staffed around the clock and is only for urgent safety issues, not for billing questions or lost items.
Immediate Danger
911
If you are in immediate danger or witness a crime, always call 911 first. You can also call 911 directly from the Safety Toolkit button inside the Uber app.
Driver Support Line
This 24/7 line connects drivers directly to Uber's support team. Typical wait times are 1 to 5 minutes. It is best for fare disputes, payment problems, and account issues.
Help for Everyday Problems
For most common issues like a lost item, a billing question, or a problem with a trip, the fastest way to get help is through the app. Uber's phone lines are reserved for serious situations.
1. Use the App (Fastest)
Reporting a problem through the app lets Uber's team see your trip details right away. Here is how:
- Open the Uber app and tap "Account."
- Go to the "Help" section.
- Choose the trip you need help with or pick a support topic.
- Follow the steps to report your problem. You can also send a message to the support team through the app.
2. Uber Eats Help
Problems with a food order are handled in the Uber Eats app. Go to the "Help" section there to report missing items, wrong orders, or other issues. Uber Eats also has a 24/7 phone line at (800) 253-9377 if you cannot find an answer online.
3. Help Website
If you cannot use the app, visit help.uber.com on any web browser. Sign in to your account, pick your issue, and follow the steps. The website covers account questions, payment problems, and trip issues.
4. Lost an Item?
If you left something in an Uber, use the app to get it back. Go to "Your Trips," pick the ride, and tap "Find lost item." You can then call or message your driver. If you lost your phone, you can enter a friend's number to make the call. A small fee may apply if the driver returns the item.
New Safety Features in 2026
Uber added several new safety tools this year:
- Audio Recording: Riders can now record audio during a trip. The recording is encrypted and saved on your phone. Uber can only hear it if you upload it with a safety report. Recordings not used in a report are deleted after 7 days.
- Text 911 and ADT: The updated Safety Toolkit lets you live text with ADT safety agents or 911 dispatchers, even if you cannot make a phone call.
- RideCheck: If a trip goes off course or stops unexpectedly, Uber's RideCheck feature can automatically send you a message to ask if you need help.
