Fiumicino Taxi Fares Explained
The Comune di Fiumicino runs its own small municipal taxi fleet, separate from the taxis licensed by Rome Capitale. In September 2025 the town council updated local tariffs that had been frozen since 2007, replacing old fixed route prices with a meter-based system and stated minimums.
Fiumicino municipal taxis now charge at least 25 euros for any trip to or from Leonardo da Vinci airport, and at least 12 euros for a journey that stays inside the comune but avoids the airport. An experimental 'double taximeter' pairs the traditional meter with a quoted flat price for permitted cases, so the cost is clearer before you set off.
A 20% discount applies to several user groups, including people with disabilities, women travelling alone or with children at night (Taxi Rosa), passengers over 70 (Taxi Argento), trips to and from hospitals and rides to night events. Discounts also apply on car-free traffic-block days.

A local cooperative, Unione Taxi Fiumicino (UTF), is based on Via della Scafa and moves passengers between FCO and Rome and across the wider territory.
