Cabo San Lucas Taxi Fares Explained

At Los Cabos International Airport (SJD), taxis do not use meters or curb hails: you pay a flat zone rate at a Taxis/Transportación Terrestre window before boarding, then a dispatcher assigns the next car. The airport stand charges per vehicle, with Cabo San Lucas in a higher zone than San José del Cabo or the Tourist Corridor; city taxis and Uber are not allowed to pick up at the terminal. Rates change, and cash in dollars or pesos is safer than relying on card terminals.

Within Cabo San Lucas, taxis are widely available but expensive, and fares are often negotiated rather than metered; a one-way Cabo San Lucas–San José del Cabo ride runs about $60–$70, while Corridor trips to either town start around $15. Water taxis cluster at the downtown marina for beaches such as Playa del Amor and Playa Médano, with negotiated or fixed rates around $15 one-way.
